Podcast: Return of the Border War

I’m joined again by our first-ever guest of the podcast to talk about the renewal of Border War in basketball.

First, a little podcast business. With the basketball season returning, we are going to start having at least three episodes every week. We’ll continue our football preview and recap episodes, and depending on the week, we might be doing the same for each basketball game as well.

Additionally, we are still looking for new shows to join our podcast channel. Have a podcast that you think our audience would like to listen to? Always wanted to start a KU-adjacent podcast? Shoot me a message at my contact info below and we’ll see how what we can figure out.

On to today’s episode. With the news of the Border War being renewed, it made sense to bring back the only Missouri fan who’s opinion I actually respect. Carrington Harrison of 610 sports joins the show to bring the Missouri perspective. A bit of a spoiler alert: he wasn’t really able to change my mind about the rivalry.

Topics Include:

  • Surprised that the Border War was renewed?
  • Toxic nature of the rivalry
  • What is the benefit to Kansas?
  • Can this game ever get back to what it was?
  • Why weren’t other sports included?
  • How big was the football rivalry?
  • What makes a good rivalry?
