First road game of the conference season, and Kansas gets a much improved Tubby Smith Texas Tech squad. They are looking for a marquee win to legitimize their fast start. Can they get it today at home against the top ranked Jayhawks?
mikeville: This game shouldn't be close, but in the Big 12, I'm not sure you can really expect that, especially with the higher ranked team on the road. Kansas has the extra burden of the "Oklahoma hangover" combined with the "looking ahead to West Virginia." I hate the phrase "trap game" but this has the makings of one. Will the Jayhawks overcome? It's hard to win conference titles with losses in Lubbock, so I say yes. Kansas 78, Texas Tech 68.
David: Lubbock is always a tricky place to play. Combine that with the possibility of some letdown after Monday's huge game, and I lean toward this being closer than it should be. Tech appears to be greatly improved since last year, and while i wouldn't say I'm worried, there's some degree of concern. In the end though, Kansas has far more talent and Self typically doesn't lose these games. Kansas 82, Texas Tech 73
Winmore: Kansas has had its troubles down in the west Texas wastes of Lubbock. Tubby Smith has the Raiders playing much better ball as of late. All of that, coupled with lingering effects of having played a game and a half against Oklahoma will probably muddy this game up for the Jayhawks. Still, Kansas is too deep to let this one slip away. Kansas 76, Texas Tech 69.
KU Grad 08: This will be the most frustrating win of the year. Threes aren't going to fall, the team will look flat, etc. AKA it's a typical road game in Lubbock. Still, I think the Hawks grind it out in the end. Kansas 73, Texas Tech 70.
dnoll5: All the guys above me are all predicting a close one, and if the past results in Lubbock are any clue, it probably will be. I'm not buying it. KU is going to bury Tech. Look for big games from Greene and Svi and Bragg and Diallo as those guys all have fresh legs. I think the rotation will be expanded for this one and KU will win big. Kansas 90, Texas Tech 67.
Fizzle406: coming off a huge game to Lubbock is worrisome but I think we should still win easily. I hope we don't see too much of Mason and some of the starters don't get overworked. Kansas 72, Texas Tech 63
misterbrain: I'm once again worried about how the team will come out in this game, especially since the report came out that players were still fatigued from the Oklahoma game just a couple days ago. However, Kansas has too much talent and depth to be overwhelmed by the situation and fatigue, and I expect a solid performance to finish a close win. Kansas 82, Texas Tech 77
