To this point, a loss would not have derailed the hopes of a medal for Team USA. A loss tonight means that a medal is no longer possible. As such, this is likely the most important game of the World University Games for the Jayhawks.
The Lithuanians finished 4-1 in pool C, losing only to pool winner France, who went undefeated. From this point forward, the teams that the US will be facing are made up of good players in good leagues. Fetch previewed the Lithuanians for us yesterday, and that lineup looks formidable. If the US wins today, they will face the winner of the Russia-Estonia tomorrow. The Russians finished pool play undefeated, while Estonia went 3-1 to finish second in their pool.
Tonight's game starts at 10pm Kansas time, and is televised on ESPNU and WatchESPN. As with all the games in Korea, there will be no radio or online broadcast.
