Once again there were big games and bigger upsets abound in the college basketball world this past week, and the polls certainly reflected it. Notre Dame had both this week, beating Duke mid-week before losing at Pittsburgh on Saturday. For all their trouble, they move down 2 spots.
Kansas used two wins against the bottom of the conference to move up and replace Notre Dame at #8. They take on #11 Iowa State, who moved up after beating now-#25 Texas and TCU last week, both at home. #15 West Virginia and #19 Baylor both inched up this week, though WVU did it by beating two of the bottom teams in contrast to Baylor losing at Oklahoma State but beating up on Texas. #21 Oklahoma destroyed both Texas Tech and Oklahoma State to rise off the bubble. Instead, Texas takes their spot at the edge of being unranked, as they are in the midst of a three-game losing streak.
The Big 12 leads the way with 6 teams ranked, followed by the ACC with 5. No other conference had more than 3.
Wichita State finally lost one in the MVC, but only moved down 4 spots this week.
