Self: Tourney title a priority |

"We won the CBE and won Vegas a couple of times. It would be nice to win a field-of-eight tournament. I don’t know if we’ve won one of those in a while. I know we never won in Maui. We didn’t win Atlantis (last year) so it’d be nice to win this one," Self added.

KU women rock Iona, 90-49 |

Asia Boyd paced KU with 19 points and Terriell Bradley and Chelsea Gardner added 16 apiece. All but one of Bradley's points came from three-point range, where she knocked in 5-of-5 from downtown, good for the second best single-game mark in KU history.

KU's Heeney sporting new look for Sunflower Showdown |

One way or another, Ben Heeney is going out in style.

I’m not just a beard, I’m also a human being," Heeney said with a laugh.

Quarterbacks have come and gone. Running backs have rumbled in and out of Manhattan. Hard-hitting linebackers and safeties have stayed for a while and then moved on themselves. But regardless of the personnel, the talent level or the makeup of his roster, coach Bill Snyder, now in his 23rd season at KSU, always has managed to field teams that play the same style of football.

Don't miss good, late-night basketball - College Basketball Nation Blog - ESPN

There is no East Coast bias in college basketball. Only concern about sleep deprivation. The fans and programs that feel slighted by what they perceive to be imbalanced media coverage must realize that one coast's prime time is another coast's bedtime. Ed note: This seems like a really weak excuse.  You would think that recognizing a large part of their audience can't stay up that late would lead them to show MORE highlights and cover those games more.

Who wears short shorts? St. John's big man Chris Obekpa does - College Basketball Nation Blog - ESPN

St. John's NIT Season Tip-Off game against Minnesota had fans checking their televisions to make sure they weren't watching a broadcast of an 80s classic.

Why? Red Storm junior big man Chris Obekpa was rocking shorts that showed off more of the thigh than we're used to seeing in this decade.
