This is the height of everything that is wrong with sunshine-pumping stories. It brushes off everything that points to a big defeat by saying that our guys "tasted victory" and they "want it more". From the author's point of view though, this makes perfect sense, regardless of if he actually believes they will win. If we lose, he can brush the article off as optimistically pumping up the home team, hoping to build excitement. If we do won, he can shout that he alone proclaimed we would pull the upset.
