The Kansas Jayhawks fell to a hot shooting West Virginia team 91-85 in Morgantown Saturday afternoon. The Jayhawks fell apart in the last couple minutes of the game, allowing the Mountaineers easy looks, easy rebounds, and a few boneheaded turnovers committed by the Jayhawks.
KU took care of the ball rather well, giving up only 7 turnovers. However, it was not enough to overcome the 57% from 3 WVU shot today. KU couldn’t take care of the glass either, as they got outrebounded 31-22 by WVU.
Kevin McCullar led all scorers with 24 points. Nick Timberlake came off the bench for 12.
Its a frustrating loss. This is a team Kansas should have beaten but its tough to beat a team who goes lights out from 3.
Kansas will have a quick turnaround as they host Cincinnati in Allen Fieldhouse on Monday night. That game will be broadcast on ESPN.
