Kansas basketball: Jayhawks among Labaron Philon's top four school choices

+

The Kansas Jayhawks have maintained a strong presence in the pursuit of top-tier recruits for the upcoming year's class. Labaron Philon is the latest addition to this mix, as he has included KU in his final four choices. Standing at 6 feet 4 inches, Philon is a point guard known for his ability to score effectively from all three levels of the court. According to 247 Sports, he holds the impressive ranking of being the third-best player in his position and the 27th nationally. Having earned the title of Alabama Mr. Basketball, Philon faces a decision between four schools: Alabama, Cincinnati, Ole Miss, and Kansas basketball. His junior year at his high school saw him achieve a remarkable feat of scoring over 1,000 points. While he exhibits diverse scoring skills, scouts have particularly highlighted his prowess in on-ball defense and playmaking. With the potential to enter the NBA, Philon could greatly benefit from the coaching expertise of Bill Self, a distinguished figure in the Pro Basketball Hall of Fame. Despite initially committing to Auburn in February, Philon reversed his commitment in under three months. As of now, the Tigers seem to be entirely removed from consideration.
