The Rock Chalkboard
Michael Swain of 247Sports attempts to give us a feeling of what the celebrations after the bowl game were like, and what it meant for the program.
Swain also takes a look at the legacy Bean is leaving behind following his MVP performance.
Harry Greenstein at the LJW writes about the show KU’s receivers put on in the bowl game earlier this week.
Greenstein also notes that Hunter Dickinson feels “refreshed” after the holiday break. (I guess Wichita State better watch out!)
Bits o’ Chalk
An Illinois basketball player - apparently one of their better players - has been arrested in Douglas County (Lawrence) for a rape that occurred the same weekend that KU and Illinois played football this past September.
Oklahoma turned it over 6 times as they got blasted by Arizona in the Alamo Bowl.
The Detroit Pistons keep setting records, this one after blowing a 21-point lead. One more loss and they will have sole possession of the longest overall losing streak (which would include any streaks that stretch across multiple seasons).
Joe Flacco was sitting at home six weeks ago, and now he’s leading the Browns into the playoffs.
Ja’Marr Chase and his zero super bowl rings are talking trash on the Kansas City defense.
The Sandlot cast reunited for a charity softball game.
Universities across the state of Kansas are demolishing old buildings in order to save on maintenance costs.
The Kansas Board of Regents announced in June it is reviewing proposals to eliminate programs at the six state universities. If you take a look around the nation, those cuts are likely to come from the humanities departments.
Question of the Day
Who are you rooting for in the Cotton Bowl?
