Guaranteed Rate Bowl champs baby!

I firmly believe that the Kansas Jayhawks are poised for a great 2024 after taking care of business in their bowl game against UNLV last night. A lot of things involving the game last night were quite the s-show, but KU once again persevered through adversity. All I want for Christmas in July next year is a healthy Jalon Daniels.

The Rock Chalkboard

Harry Greenstein at KUSports.com has some interesting nuggets in his bowl game notebook, including how KU handled the offensive line last night and some words on KU’s Arizona high school recruiting.

There was a report that Devin Neal is returning to KU for his senior season next year, but Leipold wouldn’t confirm that in the post-game presser.

Derek Duke at Heartland College Sports has some thoughts on the game, and the first involves, you guessed, it, the officiating.

The KC Star put together some tweets from KU fans commenting on the, let’s say, production quality of the game last night. (Editor’s Note: ESPN should be embarrassed.)

The AP even got in on noting the sheer number of flags in the game.

I don’t know if this is paywalled or not, but Joe Blake at Jayhawk Slant has a few notes from Leipold regarding the rebuild of the KU football program. Meanwhile, Sarah Motter at WIBW has some more quotes from Leipold and KU QB Jason Bean as they look back over the last three years.

Did a 5th-grader write this article for KTNV in Las Vegas? That actually might be an insult to 5th-graders, so I apologize.

Oh yeah, it’s basketball season. Conference play starts soon, and Jacob Unruh at the Oklahoman has KU at the top of his power rankings.

I can’t read this article, but the lede says KU spent over $10 million on lawyers to defend itself in the recently wrapped infractions case.

Bits O’ Chalk

The Detroit Pistons have done it! They have set a new record for wins - by their opponents, that is.

The Simpsons got a jab in on Jim Harbaugh’s sign-stealing scandal.

Dude turned $5 into $490K on a Christmas Eve parlay miracle. (Don’t gamble, folks!)

Eraser Dust

Republicans think they can flip Kansas House District 3 and oust Sharice Davids. To that I say, good luck.

State attorney general Kris Kobach just asked Johnson County election officials to break the law.

What’s the coolest thing you got for Christmas this year?
