Kansas Jayhawks Basketball Predictions: TCU Horned Frogs

The crew gets together to tell you what is going to happen tonight.

NCAA Basketball: Northwestern State at Texas Christian Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

So we didn’t have a predictions article before the Texas game, and we all saw what happened there. To make sure we aren’t the problem again, I gathered the crew to get you some last minute predictions as the Kansas Jayhawks take on the TCU Horned Frogs tonight in Fort Worth.

Disagree with anything you see here? Give us your prediction in the comments below.

dnoll5: This game is a late start, so how many are even going to be able to finish watching it? Not sure, but I’ll try to finish it, and I’ll try to have a Player Rating post (I know you guys have been missing them so much) for this contest. Player Ratings to the Theme of Comebacks? I dunno, but I think KU will bounce back and win this game so I’ll keep it in mind. Prediction: Christian Braun has a nice game. Kansas 60, TCU 55.

Kyle_Davis21: As I pointed out in my piece yesterday (shameless plug), the last time Kansas lost a regular season game after losing by 10+ points was in 2005, back when YouTube was first created and George W. Bush was president. I don’t expect that trend to end now. KU has a chip on its shoulder and TCU has been pretty careless with the ball this season. This is also by far the best team TCU has faced all year (second is Oklahoma State, who is 41st at KemPom). So yeah, the Jayhawks will get back on track on the road. Kansas 73, TCU 66

Mike.Plank: Don’t worry, Kyle, if you weren’t going to reference that, I was. And how about Player Ratings to the Theme of Frogs? Kermit the Frog #1. Anyway, Kansas just simply doesn’t lose back-to-back-affairs, and even if Marcus Garrett is unable to play, I don’t think that will be enough to keep the Jayhawks out of the W column in this one. Look for KU to get back on track from behind the arc and come away with a close for a while but comfortable 10-ish point win. Kansas 80, TCU 68.

Fizzle406: Player rating to the theme of frogs is a good one. Why aren’t there any frog based superheroes? Marvel needs to base its next phase around frogman or frogwoman. Anyway I am going to go against the grain and say Kansas loses this one too. Garrett is hurt. We looked like crap in the last game and this one is being played at a weird time on TCU’s weird court. TCU 77, Kansas 71

Andy Mitts: The problem I have with this game is that I have no idea what to expect from David McCormack. If he has even a decent game, I think Kansas is more talented on the perimeter and that can carry them to victory. But if McCormack plays as poorly as he did against Texas, then KU will need to shoot 80% behind the arc just to keep it close. Ultimately, I don’t think Kansas wants to walk home, which I think Bill Self will make them do if they lose this game. So it will be much closer than I want it to be, but Kansas pulls it out late. Hopefully I stay awake for the whole thing. Kansas 61, TCU 59.
