Coastal Carolina game was 'wake-up call' for Kansas defense
“What we worked on is a lot of eyes, a lot of eye training, a lot of tackling,” said Feaster. “Just working together overall like we didn’t have an offseason. We didn’t get to have a spring [practice slate]. That first game was like a wake-up call for us to see where we were [and] to address those issues. I feel like the coaches have done a great job of putting us in a position to minimize those mistakes.”

The easy choice for Phog.net player of the game was Williams. The junior rushed for 76 yards on 14 attempts, good for an average of 5.4 yards per carry. He also caught three passes for 24 yards.
