FanPulse: Jayhawks fans can send KU to Sweet Sixteen

It may not be the real thing, but Kansas still has a chance to win the NCAA Tournament... sort of. Voting has opened for the second round of SB Nation’s FanPulse tournament.

While the NCAA Tournament isn’t happening, Kansas fans still have a chance to show their support and help the team towards a different kind of national championship.

If you haven't already signed up for SB Nation’s FanPulse, what are you waiting for? FanPulse is currently conducting rounds of surveys to determine who would have won the 2020 tournament. The first round concluded last week and the second round opened up Monday. A champion will be named, and KU fans can make sure it’s the top overall seed in the tournament.

Kansas Advances Into Second Round

Technically the Kansas Jayhawks started their FanPulse tournament with a play-in game opponent. In reality, this just meant they really had to beat two teams.

But have no fear, Kansas easily handled both Prairie View A&M and NC Central, earning 96 percent of the vote.

Chance at the Sweet Sixteen

If KU plans on reaching the second weekend of the tournament, where everyone expected them to be, they will need to beat a strong opponent. In the second round they face the Saint Mary’s Gaels.

The Gaels had an argument for a better seed than the No. 8 they were given. However, in this tournament all that really counts is fan support. In order to continue their tournament run, KU fans will need to get their votes in before the survey closes Tuesday night.

If you’re not already signed up for FanPulse, you can register here and be immediately taken to NCAA Tournament voting. And Kansas fans will all need to participate to avoid an early round "upset".

With a win, Kansas would face either Ohio State or Seton Hall in the Sweet Sixteen.
