The Leap Day Mauling: 2.29.2020

Happy Leap Day. Leap Day is a holiday that doesn’t get the attention it deserves. We get a bonus day this year. Do something special today. Take the kids out for ice cream. Do something fun with your significant other. Call your Grandma.

Now with that out of the way I have some leap day takes. Leap day should be the Washington DC of holidays in that it should not be part of any month nor should it be part of a week either. It should also be moved to the summertime. Here is how it should work. Leap Day should be held on a 24 hour period between July 31 and August 1st every 4 years. You go to work on Friday July 31, the 24 hour leap day occurs and then its Saturday August 1st. It should be a worldwide holiday with parades and community events. Lets make it something special.
