When star running back Pooka Williams opted out of the 2020 college football season on October 19, he didn't say for certain whether he would be coming back to the University of Kansas. Given his potential pro prospects and the state of the program, many were left skeptical that we would see Williams in a Jayhawk uniform again. That skepticism proved warranted Sunday, as Williams announced he would be throwing his name in the mix for next year's NFL draft. From Pooka himself:
Williams was an All-Big 12 running back in both his full seasons at Kansas, and figures to be a potential return specialist and change-of-pace back at the next level. As of now, the three likeliest candidates to tote the ball in next year's backfield are Velton Gardner, a junior next year, and current freshmen Amauri Pesek-Hickson and Daniel Hishaw, Jr.
