TCU quarterback Max Duggan completed just three passes on the night. All three went to wide open receivers - and I mean WIDE open receivers - for touchdowns. And that’s really all you need to know about what happened in Lawrence on Saturday night.
TCU led 24-0 before you could blink, and the Frogs never looked back from there. It was 38-12 at halftime, and the second half was everyone just trying to get out of there without injury.
The Frogs had four guys rush for 50+ yards. As a team, TCU averaged 8.2 yards per carry on the way to piling up 337 rushing yards. Kansas simply had no answer for the #96-ranked offense in S&P+.
I am sad.
Jalon Daniels started for Kansas and had a forgettable night, completing just 4-13 passes for 57 yards and a TD. Miles Kendrick played most of the second half, completing 11-18 passes for 2 TDs and an INT.
With Pooka Williams gone and Velton Gardner and Daniel Hishaw out, Amauri-Pesek Hickson got 22 carries and turned them into 100 yards, which was a bright spot for the Jayhawks. Kwamie Lassiter hauled in 7 receptions for 116 yards and a TD, while Luke Grimm showed some flashes with 4 catches for 72 yards and 2 TDs.
Up next, Kansas is scheduled to take on Texas Tech in Lubbock on Saturday, Dec 5. The time will be announced by the conference some time on Sunday, Nov 29.
