The season opener for both of these squads features a top-10 opponent on the sidelines - unfortunately for the Jayhawks, they aren’t the ones with the “#1” in front of their name.
It is Gonzaga who comes in with the preseason #1 ranking in the AP Poll, while Kansas enters the contest at #6. KenPom has the Zags at #1 and KU at #5. Obviously, the Zags were picked to finish first in every WCC preseason poll, however many there are.
The Jayhawks and Bulldogs have met just once before, an 80-66 Kansas victory back in November of 1998 in Allen Fieldhouse - one season before Mark Few took over in Spokane.

Here are the essentials:
The Numbers
(6) Kansas: 0-0, 0-0 Big 12
(1) Gonzaga: 0-0, 0-0 WCC
Line: Gonzaga -3.5
