This Saturday, February 1, the Kansas Jayhawks face the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Allen Fieldhouse at 3 PM local time in a Big 12 showdown that could have a profound impact on the regular season conference title.
The Red Raiders come into the matchup unranked at 13-7 (4-3 B12), but are not to be underestimated. Three of their losses so far this season have come in overtime, and they knocked off then-#1 Louisville back in December. Additionally, the Raiders are coming off an 89-81 home win over #12 West Virginia.
And, while the rosters clearly aren’t the same, let’s not forget the shellacking that Tech gave Kansas last season, a 91-62 beatdown in Lubbock, which was the last time these two squads met.
Meanwhile, #3 Kansas comes in at 17-3 (6-1 B12) and is expecting its 301st consecutive sellout as the Jayhawks prepare for Tech. On top of that, the Jayhawks are ranked #1 by several advanced statistical measures, including KenPom and Torvik.
