Kansas hits the road in Big 12 action once again as the Jayhawks travel to Austin to take on the Longhorns of Texas.
Kansas is the #6 team in the country in the AP Poll, while Texas once again comes in unranked. KenPom currently has KU at #2 and Texas at a laughable #57. How does Shaka Smart still have a job? (Not that I’m complaining.)
Kansas leads the all-time series with Texas 33-9, which includes 10-7 mark inside the Erwin Center. The most recent meeting was a 65-57 Kansas win in the Big 12 Tournament last March.
Here are the essentials:
The Numbers
(6) Kansas: 13-3, 3-1
Texas: 12-4, 2-2
Line: KU -7.5

Fun Facts
Kansas has won 11 of the last 12 matchups against Texas.
Kansas has held 6 of its last 7 opponents to 60 points or less. Additionally, 5 of KU’s last 6 opponents have shot less than 40% from the floor.
Texas is 8-1 at home this season, with the lone loss being to Oklahoma.
Despite UT’s vast resources, Shaka Smart is just 13 games over .500 in five seasons in Austin (83-70).
Texas is clearly NOT back.
