On Monday, Lucas took second in a poker event played in San Diego called the WPTDeepStacks San Diego Main Event. There were 252 entrants, and the former KU basketball center was able to outlast all but one of the competitors. By finishing in second, Lucas made $38,985.

Day one of Jayhawk 15k concludes
In the 32-player singles qualifying draw, freshmen Luniuska Delgado, Vasiliki Karvouni, Carmen Roxana Manu, Oleksandra Gorchanyuk and sophomore Julia Deming each competed in the first round of play. Delgado and Manu both remain in the bracket advancing to the final round of qualifiers. For them to move into the main draw, they must win out the final round.
