Kansas is coming off a 3-9 season that saw head coach David Beaty fired with three games yet to be played. Despite bringing in Les Miles, aka the only current head coach in the Big 12 with a D1 national championship trophy, the Jayhawks are a popular pick to finish last in the Big 12 this season.
Meanwhile, Indiana State comes in with high expectations after 7-4 campaign last season. The Sycamores hold the #16 ranking in FCS to begin the season, and have designs on making the FCS playoffs for what would be just the second time in school history.
Kansas is 2-0 all-time vs Indiana State, with both meetings coming in Lawrence back in the mid-1980s.
