3-Star LB commits to KU over Oregon, Arizona

Les Miles apparently remembers how to recruit like he’s at an SEC school. LB Alonso Person has given his verbal to the Jayhawks, with an offer sheet that includes Oregon, Arizona, Arizona State, and Illinois. Per Rivals, Person visited Oregon on 4/20/19.

This latest commitment gives KU a reported 26 verbals for the 2020 class. NCAA regulations currently allow just 25 signings of scholarship players every year. The early signing period for the 2020 class is December 18-20, 2019, which is the earliest any of these guys can sign.

Obviously, things can change with prospects backing off of verbals. Coaches also have the options of blueshirting, grayshirting, or even rescinding a scholarship offer. It will be interesting to see the final version of the 2020 recruiting class.
