Another national writer talks about Les Miles trying “to turn around a moribund Kansas program.” (Editor’s note: I guess I shouldn’t expect national writers to know what kind of defensive schemes KU ran last year. But sheesh. Get your facts right.)
Insert coaching platitude here: Miles says special teams will be a key part of KU’s success.
Kwamie Lassister II is still in touch with Steven Sims, and talks about the competition at WR in fall camp.
The 14th annual kickoff at Corinth Square (in Prairie Village) is scheduled for this Friday, Aug 23, at 6 PM.
Who are some redshirt candidates for KU basketball?
There are lots of Jayhawks on Jon Rothstein’s various preseason awards lists.
KU and mU will NOT play each other in the rivalry renewed event on Aug 30. Instead, KU will take on a K-State alumni team, while mU will take on an Arkansas alumni team. Interestingly, the organizers of this event are also planning on putting together a 16-team alumni league that would play games over the summer, with a Final Four in Kansas City.
Bits O Chalk
Now age 40, has Drew Brees’ inevitable decline already begun?
Antonio Brown lost his helmet appeal but plans to return to the Raiders’ facility on Thursday.
Lincoln Riley still isn’t ready to name Jalen Hurts as OU’s starting QB.
Brittney Griner is seriously considering leaving the WNBA.
Tacko Fall talks about when he first came to the United States and played basketball: “I was terrible.”
Eraser Dust

The NRA has seen four board members resign over the past two weeks.
HOW DO KIDS KEEP DYING IN HOT CARS. I just don’t understand.
