The “Les Miles won’t be able to recruit to Kansas” crowd seemingly grows quieter every month.
Khari Coleman verbally committed to Kansas football a few hours ago per his Twitter page. Currently a three-star recruit per Rivals and 247Sports, per Rivals, Coleman is the #22-ranked DE in the country and the #2-ranked DE out of Louisiana. Coleman chose the Jayhawks over P5 offers from Tennessee and Kansas State, to go along with a slew of G5 offers. (247Sports records that Coleman also had P5 offers from Boston College and West Virginia.)
Per 247Sports, Coleman is the highest-graded player in KU’s 2020 class.
Coleman’s commitment puts KU at 11 verbals for the 2020 class. It’s been an active past several days for Kansas football recruiting, with WR Keith Miller decommitting and LB Krishawn Brown committing within hours of each other.
With the news of Coleman’s verbal, 247Sports has moved Kansas up to #39 in the 2020 recruiting class rankings, good for 6th in the Big 12. Rivals hasn’t updated yet, but prior to Coleman’s verbal, KU was at #41 in those rankings.
All of these commits are, of course, currently non-binding. The early-signing period for college football this year is December 18-20.
