Per a tweet from 247Sports KU beat writer Scott Chasen, Kansas forward KJ Lawson has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

On its face, this isn't a game changer for next year's team. KJ had some nice appearances for last year's Jayhawks, but ultimately was a role player whose production was inconsistent.
The big questionhere, if you read the tea leaves, is what this means for his brother, 3rd team all-American Dedric Lawson. It seems rather unlikely that KJ would transfer while his brother stays at Kansas, so it can reasonably be assumed that Dedric, who led the conference in both points and rebounds while stretching defenses from the 4 and 5 positions, is moving on to the professional ranks.
The number of scholarships available to Bill Self appears to be on the rise, with this news coming on the heels of Charlie Moore's entry to the transfer portal just days ago.
