Previewing KU basketball's regular season finale vs. Baylor
The Jayhawks are in a new position heading into senior day — not only lacking a senior on the current roster but also having the Big 12 race wrapped up while on the outside looking in. Of course, things will still need to settle at the top of the league — K-State and Texas Tech, or both, will finish things off on Saturday — but the Jayhawks are locked in as the conference's three-seed heading into the Big 12 tournament.

Getting to know: Baylor basketball | Jackson's Journal |
The Jayhawks have another streak on the line, as well. Beginning in 1983-84 under then-head coach Larry Brown, KU has won 35 consecutive regular-season home finales. Kansas is also vying to post its 20th undefeated season in Allen Fieldhouse and its first since going 16-0 in the venue in 2015-16.

Bill Self points to 'maturity,' 'distractions,' defense as factors in irregular season | Smithology |
In spite of the Kansas basketball team’s undefeated home record and the necessity for a Jayhawks victory against Baylor, what with Selection Sunday coming up in just more than a week, this season’s Allen Fieldhouse finale figures to lack the buzz and fervor of recent regular season closers.

'I'm not going to let it slip': Thomas MacVittie calls playing QB at KU 'amazing' opportunity |
Even though the man who recruited him to the University of Kansas left before Thomas MacVittie ever had a chance to work under the assistant coach’s tutelage, MacVittie wasn’t afforded the time to ponder what might have been.

Big 12 coaches talk about the end of 'The Streak'
The Big 12 streak is no more, and while KU coach Bill Self has shared his thoughts on the Jayhawks’ run of success, there have been several others around the league who chimed in with their comments.

The FBI case's impact on recruiting for Kansas basketball
The FBI corruption case in college basketball most recently made a resurgence for LSU in the headlines with news of Will Wade and a reported wiretap conversation. But the situation is felt everywhere, and that includes Kansas and coach Bill Self.

Broncos propose alternative to trying onside kick
According to the Broncos' proposal, released Friday night by the NFL, each team would have one opportunity per game to remain on offense after a fourth-quarter score. Instead of kicking off, the team would line up at its 35-yard line for what is in essence a fourth-and-15. If the team gains the 15 yards, it maintains possession. If not, the defense takes over.

OKC's George rips refs -- 'It's getting out of hand'
"It's just bad officiating," George said. "I'm sorry, just bad officiating. We don't get a fair whistle. We haven't gotten a fair whistle all year. ... Somebody's got to look into this. It's getting out of hand, where we somehow just walk teams to the line. And there's nobody that gets more contact. If I don't speak for myself, I speak for Russ. There's nobody that gets more contact than Russ going to the basket. And it's just crazy.

Green -- Cousins unfairly blamed for recent slide
The Golden State Warriors spent Friday night defending DeMarcus Cousins' defense after the big man helped propel his team to a 122-105 win over the Denver Nuggets.

Court filings in a federal criminal case involving college basketball corruption link former NC State coach Mark Gottfried to being the first head coach directly connected to impermissible payments to players, sources told ESPN.

Tiger Woods prop bets for the Hero World Challenge are out, and he's a long shot -
Woods also played this tournament last year when he finished 15th in a field of 18 (with one player withdrawing before the tournament was over). Woods shot a stunning 65 in the second round last season, and while I don't expect as much out of this return after fusion surgery in April, it's anyone's guess as to how he'll fare this time around.
