Kansas Literally Mauls Milwaukee

Wow

NCAA Basketball: Wis.-Milwaukee at Kansas Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

The UW-Milwaukee Panthers were a speed bump for a cruising Kansas Jayhawks team tonight. KU came out hot and Milwaukee honestly didn't seem to have the first clue what to do. Ochai Agbaji hit a few early threes and Devon Dotson established quickly that no one on the other side would be capable of slowing him down. The score was 40-12 at the under-8 timeout and felt like KU was going to be able to name their score. The Panthers simply had no answers.

By halftime, the Jayhawks had amassed a 52-27 lead, with Dotson at 17 points, while Udoka Azubuike contributed seven with ten boards. The Panthers as a team shot just 20% overall and 30% from deep.

The second half did not add any drama as KU coasted to a 95-68 victory. Dok was a beast against the smaller opponent, finishing with 15 and 17 while hitting all seven of his shots. Dotson and Agbaji were co-scoring leaders with 22 apiece, combining to go 8-14 from deep while Dotson contributed a season high nine assists. Oh, and Chris Teahan got to drain a three.

The Jayhawks improve to 8-1 for the season, with a matchup against nearby UMKC (slightly worse than Milwaukee, per KenPom) looming at the Sprint Center Saturday afternoon. After that, things get considerably tougher and won't let up the rest of the year.
