It’s Senior Day for the Kansas Jayhawks and they welcome in a Baylor Bears team that has already clinched a spot in the Big 12 Championship Game. Can they pull off a monumental upset in the final game for this senior class?
Take a look at what our staff thinks, then give your own prediction in the comments below.
dnoll5: Man, I totally forgot that it was football season. Anyway, KU is going to get mauled by a motivated Bears team. Baylor 55, Kansas 28.
Fizzle406: Kansas will end the first year of Les miles 3-9. No way do they pull off the surprise on senior day. All in all a decent first year though. Year it could have been better but it was an improvement Baylor 60, Kansas 22
Kyle_Davis21: I wish there was a better outlook on senior day, but I don’t see the defense slowing Baylor down enough to pull off the upset. Baylor 38, Kansas 24
David: This seems like the kind of game where we get blown out, but it’s an early kickoff right after Thanksgiving, likely with a smaller crowd that tends to make for a weirder atmosphere for a highly ranked team, and surprisingly, Kansas is “only” 14 point underdogs. I’ll say this one stays kinda close, even if the outcome is never in much doubt. Baylor 41, Kansas 28
Andy: I made the mistake of putting the kiss of death on last week’s upset, so I won’t do the same here. But Baylor is dealing with a beat up and less-mobile-than-usual Charlie Brewer. Plus, this Baylor team has a bad habit of playing down to the level of the competition.
The extra emotion surrounding the game should serve to juice up the Jayhawks. While I don’t know that it will be enough to win, I do think it is more than enough to make it close. Kansas plays inspired, leading late in the game before finally losing their momentum. Baylor 38, Kansas 31.
