Bryce Thompson explains decision to commit to KU basketball
Bryce Thompson made the decision to bring his recruitment to an end on Tuesday. The five-star combo guard announced he was committing to the University of Kansas on CBS Sports HQ, which vaulted the Jayhawks' class up to second in the Big 12 and up into the top-15 nationally.

“It’s a great school with great tradition and great coaches that I’ve built lots of relationship with,” Thompson told 247Sports. “I got good with the players also. I was able to talk to the AD surrounding the whole NCAA situation. He cleared it up pretty much, it’s not going to be perfect, but I trust the coaching staff and that they are going to do what’s right.”

But Tuesday the Jayhawks landed a more traditional — read: for Kansas — star recruit, with five-star Tulsa guard Bryce Thompson committing to Kansas over fellow blue blood North Carolina and in-state schools Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.

Previewing the early basketball signing period
On Tuesday, the day before the official start to the signing period, five-star guards Bryce Thompson and Nimari Burnett made their college decisions. Thompson announced on CBS Sports HQ that he is headed to Kansas to play for Bill Self, the same coach his father played for as a senior in college. Burnett opted for Texas Tech, becoming their highest rated recruit in school history. Kansas moved up to No. 11 overall in the 247Sports Team.

Officers made contact with Mr. Cat in the Hat on U.S. 2 and advised him to stay away.
