Ochai Agbaji makes first career start, goes for 24 points
The freshman, whose redshirt was removed just weeks ago on Jan. 8, found out he’d be starting over Lagerald Vick during a film session two or three days earlier, then put up career-highs with 24 points and seven rebounds. He also tallied two steals and a block, but even after his stellar night, the Jayhawks fell to 1-5 on the road, presenting a problem Agbaji and the Jayhawks still need to handle.

Benton Smith: Lack of leadership evident during Jayhawks' recent road woes | KUsports.com

Agbaji scores 24 points, but not enough as KU’s road woes continue with loss at Texas
Known as a man of few words, senior guard Lagerald Vick delivered a short, but sharp message to Kansas’ basketball players after the Jayhawks’ 73-63 loss to Texas on Tuesday night at Frank Erwin Center.

Media praises Texas, rakes Kansas for Longhorn win
But Tuesday, Texas checked its closet and found that the team that has thrown such a scare into the Longhorns — Kansas was 7-0 against Smart at Texas — was really just a few shirts that looked like a monster because they were hanging at a weird angle. Texas took the lead early, then kept it, in a 73-63 victory.
The two plays that ended Kansas' hope of a comeback vs. Texas
Self’s No. 11 Jayhawks have had offensive issues all season. The Jayhawks have struggled on the road. Those aspects of Tuesday’s 73-63 road loss were nothing new. But this was different. For the first time in recent memory, the Jayhawks were succeeding in a now-or-never situation. The margin for error was gone. They were pressing, they needed to force stops and they needed to steal extra possessions. It was working.
What Bill Self said after KU basketball's loss to Texas...
KU basketball fell to Texas on Tuesday, 73-63. After the game, KU coach Bill Self spoke to the media for his post-game press conference and gave an interview, per usual, on the KU athletics radio broadcast of the event.
