“We felt like we left a lot out there,” head coach David Beaty said. “We left a lot of stuff out there that you simply can’t do in the Big 12. So we learned a lot from that tape. It’s never as good as you think it is and never as bad as you think it is but we learned a whole lot from that tape.”

UNC players donated their meal money to Hurricane Florence victims - SBNation.com
The school says 85 players — the same amount that can get an athletic scholarship, under NCAA rules — are donating $15 toward supplies for residents in Eastern North Carolina. That totals $1,275. The $15 figure is the maximum schools are allowed to give players (in lieu of a meal, if the school doesn’t just do that) after either a home or away game.

The five Lakers lineups we most want to see this season - Silver Screen and Roll
The Lakers’ so-called “Death Lineup” with James at center is easily number one on this list. James has been reluctant to even play power forward for long stretches throughout his career (he hilariously identified himself as a small forward in the new Space Jam announcement Wednesday), but the most fascinating combination of Lakers most assuredly involves James at the 5, where he could credibly match up with opposing small-ball centers.

The Timberwolves are currently not interested in trading Jimmy Butler. Instead, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, they’re shooting down all teams reaching out about a deal for the All-Star forward, telling them he is a franchise player they intend to keep.

Baker Mayfield gives the Cleveland Browns honest-to-god hope - SBNation.com
Most of you (I’m guessing) imagined that the Browns’ first win in 635 days would look a lot like their last. When they beat the San Diego Chargers on Christmas Eve, 2016, they did so in incredibly Browns-ian fashion.

This one hits a little close to home as my brother in law went to this high school (he wasn’t in “the program” but got a physical from this guy and estimates he knows about 50% of the victims). Just a reminder that this can happen anywhere and how important it is to have a continuous conversation with your kids about good touch and bad touch.
