Lagerald Vick Declaring For NBA Draft Without an Agent

Lagerald Vick is declaring for the NBA Draft without an agent, he announced via the KU Basketball twitter account today. Although this means he could return to Kansas for his senior season, the wording on the tweet from KU certainly makes it seem like he is going to stay in the draft.

Vick is unlikely to be selected in the NBA Draft, but probably can make a nice living professionally abroad. He had an up and down KU career (and season this year), but at his best he is definitely a player who can contribute professionally. He shot 37 percent from three this season and 57 percent on twos. He’s a good straight line athlete as well as good vertical leaper, and if he improves his off ball defense I think he will have a nice career as a pro.

As for KU, if Vick stays in the draft they will have another scholarship spot open, which presumably could go to McDonalds All American Romeo Langford. If Langford chooses Indiana or Vanderbilt, I wouldn’t mind seeing Kansas add a shooter via grad transfer, or a regular transfer to shore up the 2018-19 roster considering all of the potential early departures off next year’s team.
