Top seed Kansas has emerged from the Midwest Region and continues its quest for its fourth NCAA title as the Jayhawks take on East Region champion and fellow 1-seed Villanova Wildcats in the Final Four.

Kansas won the Big 12 Regular Season and Tournament titles on its way to earning the top seed in the Midwest Region. The Jayhawks finished the regular season at #4 in the AP Poll.

Villanova finished second in the Big East, one game behind Xavier. However, the Wildcats won the Big East Tournament, taking the championship game over Providence. They were awarded the 1-seed in the East Region and finished the season ranked #2 in the AP Poll.

These two school have met six times in their histories, with each side winning three times. Villanova has won the last two matchups (2016, 2013).
