Top seed Kansas begins its quest for its fourth NCAA title as the Jayhawks take on the University of Pennsylvania Quakers in the first round.
Kansas won the Big 12 Regular Season and Tournament titles on its way to earning the top seed in the Midwest Region. The Jayhawks finished the regular season at #4 in the AP Poll.
Penn won the Ivy League regular season and tournament titles to earn an automatic berth in this year’s tournament, where they were awarded a 16-seed. However, the Quakers finished the season outside the top 25.
The Jayhawks and Quakers have met three times previously, the last matchup back in 2000. KU leads the all-time series 3-0.
