Kansas (26-7, 13-5) is currently ranked #9 in the AP Poll.

Western Virginia (24-9, 11-7) comes in ranked #18.

The Mountaineers are coached by Bob THuggins, who has coached his way to hundreds of wins over his career by daring refs to call fouls on his team. When they finally do, he cries like a little baby about it.

Kansas swept West Virginia in regular season series, taking a close 71-66 game in Morgantown and a 77-69 affair in Lawrence.

The Jayhawks still lead the all-time series against the Mountaineers, 9-4.

For a “tournament that doesn’t matter,” Kansas is 43-11 all-time in the Big 12 Tournament, winning it 10 out of 21 tries, with by far the best winning percentage (.796) than any other school in this event (OU is next-best at 22-19, .537).

Bill Self is 29-7 at Kansas in the Big 12 Tournament, and KU is 21-4 in conference tournament games played at Sprint Center.
