Ochai Agbaji Picks Kansas

The Oak Park High star out of KCMO will don the crimson and blue.

KC Star

Kansas City native Ochai Agbaji has picked the Jayhawks. He is currently rated as a 3-star wing in the 247 Composite, and although he is ranked outside the top 300 nationally, he is definitely a late bloomer, having picked up offers from Wisconsin, Texas A&M, Oregon, Oklahoma State, and Nebraska in the last two weeks.

At 6’5” 195lbs, Agbaji is averaging over 27 ppg and 9 rpg for Oak Park. Agbaji played for Mokan Elite last summer, along with current Missouri forward Jontay Porter. His shooting needs some work, as he shot under 20 percent from three last summer, but he’s scored from basically all over this season for Oak Park.

This puts Kansas one over the scholarship limit, so the Jayhawks likely are going to be seeing some early departures on the wings, and probably don’t feel too confident about landing McDonalds All American guard Romeo Langford, the top unsigned prospect. Agbaji looks like a potential redshirt candidate, but he has a lot of defensive upside and upside on the glass, and could blossom into a nice 5-year player for the Jayhawks.
