The Kansas Jayhawks made everyone look like a fool on Saturday, with a puzzling loss at home against arguably the worst team in the conference against Oklahoma State. Now, KU welcomes in the TCU Horned Frogs, a team that is without one of their star players but has still been able to put up a fight in conference play. What can we expect from this team tonight?
Mike.Plank: I was all kinds of prepared to predict another close game, but after yesterday’s evisceration of Vick and Azubuike by Bill Self in his presser, there’s no way the Jayhawks come out flat in this one, right? Especially with Jaylen Fisher still out for TCU. This is gonna be a beatdown the likes of which we haven’t seen since Omaha came to town. Kansas 95, TCU 72.
dnoll5: My guess is that KU will win, probably even win a bunch in a row, and make us forget about that OSU game for a while. Maybe I’m wrong. I have no idea. Starting Mitch seems like a good plan, though, and I’ve gotta trust Bill Self in his dealings with Lagerald Vick. When he took Malik Newman out of the starting five, he figured things out after that. I’m hoping that this is another HOFCBS masterstroke of psychology. Kansas 86, TCU 76.
Fizzle406: Everytime I have predicted a blow out, we get beat. Most of the times when i predict we are going to lose, we win. Basically, I have no idea what to expect with this team. Who would have thought we would be better on the road than we are at home? So I like to think we are going to win but TCU is always tough for Kansas. Regardless of who comes out on top, I think its going to be close. Kansas 82, TCU 81.5
Kyle_Davis21: I’m with Mike that surely Bill Self’s lineup changes and not-so-subtle messages regarding the team’s effort should light a fire under the Jayhawks. But I could also see some initial struggles on offense as KU adjusts to more two-big sets with Mitch and Doke together (something we haven’t seen much of). Still, Kansas should still win this game, and I think we’ll see a better shooting night from 3. Kansas 78, TCU 72
David: After some more encouraging results, I’m back to survive and advance mode. I have no idea what to expect out of this team, other than each game being more frustrating than it seems like it should be. Kansas 77, TCU 76
Andy Mitts: I’d feel better about this game of it was in Fort Worth, and I’m not sure if that’s a serious statement or not. I’m just not sure why this team seems to have such problems at home, but Bill Self is typically pretty good about lighting a fire under his team, at least temporarily. Given that this is the first game after a disappointing loss, I’m expecting Devonte Graham and Malik Newman to push this team to a win. Hopefully I’m not wrong again. Kansas 83, TCU 72.
