KUSports.com just published a four-sentence post stating that Kansas football running back Pooka Williams has been arrested for “suspicion of domestic battery.” They report that he was arrested at 3 PM yesterday (Thursday) afternoon and that as of now (9:30 AM Friday) no bond has been set. That's all the information we have at this time.
This is... not great.
Obviously Pooka's talent is undeniable. He was recently named the Big 12's offensive freshman of the year and was first team All-Big 12 at RB and KR.
As if Les Miles didn't have enough to deal with considering the current state of the recruiting class, now there's this.
Speculation at this point is pointless and unproductive, so stay with RCT until we know more.
10:00 AM UPDATE
Statement from Les Miles per Jesse Newell:
We are aware of a reported incident involving Pooka Williams and we are taking these allegations very seriously. We have suspended Pooka from all team-related activities pending further investigation. - Les Miles
