What took place on the field in Lubbock, TX on Saturday afternoon was completely... expected.
Clearly, Doug Meacham was problem with the KU offense.
I don’t even know where to start. It was a complete clown show all afternoon long. Peyton Bender played the whole game and was completely ineffective. He completed just 43% of his passes and somehow threw only one interception (Tech dropped three opportunities in the first half that I saw).
Also in the first half, Kansas had an illegal formation penalty, called timeouts twice on fourth down prior to punting, threw passes short of the sticks on third downs, and was just generally conservative in every measure of the word from the opening kickoff.
I missed the second half due to family obligations but probably wouldn’t have watched it anyway considering how frustrated I was with the first half.
Your stat of the game: Khalil Herbert averaged over 10 yards per carry in the first half. He had three carries in the entire second half.
THROW THE BALL AGAIN!!!
I hate David Beaty so much.
So anyway, Kansas lost 48-16 which includes a garbage-time touchdown scored with 11 seconds remaining in the game.
Here’s some puppies playing with babies.
