Kansas has secured a commitment from Class of 2019 combo guard Isaac McBride out of Arkansas. McBride is ranked just outside the top-100 according to Rivals and is ranked 114th in the 247 Sports Composite. The consensus four-star recruit chose Kansas out of a final three that included Auburn and Virginia.
At 6-1, McBride is currently more of a scorer than a passer, and he’s both an adept jump shooter and good at getting to the rim. Despite being just 6-1, he can elevate and finish in traffic fairly easily. He can also shoot well off the dribble and has range well beyond the college 3-point line.
From brief viewings, he looks like he needs to improve his left hand and get stronger, but even though he is ranked outside the top-100 it’s not hard to see why Bill Self offered him a scholarship. You can check out highlights on HUDL at this link.
McBride becomes the second member of the 2019 class after Christian Braun’s recent commit.
