BILL SELF ENTERS HALL OF FAME

Although Bill Self won’t be officially inducted into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame until tonight, the festivities in Massachusetts have already begun.

The reality of the accomplishment didn’t hit him until he arrived in Springfield, MA.

Self calls the experience of seeing his name listed alongside Phog Allen and other greats “humbling.”

Bill Self’s engraving says “Kansas University” on it. Uh oh. The Hall has promised to fix the “mistake.”

Wayne Simien recalls that when Bill Self first got to campus, he was able to earn the trust of the players quickly.
