Kansas has landed a commitment from 2018 forward Silvio De Sousa. De Sousa is a 6-9 forward from IMG Academy in Florida, and is currently ranked 30th in the 247 Composite.
De Sousa continues what has become a bit of an Africa to Florida to Kansas pipeline, as he originally comes from Angola. De Souza notably scored 17 points and added 7 rebounds against team USA in the 2015 U-17 World Championships when De Sousa was just 15 years old. He has "just" a 6-10 wingspan, but he's already physically mature enough to play college basketball, and should be a defensive presence inside as well as a ferocious dunker.
He will join a front court next year that has, barring any transfers and early departures, Billy Preston, Udoka Azubuike, and Dedric Lawson. 2018-19 should be another fun year in Lawrence.
