The NCAA deadline for basketball players to withdraw from the NBA draft, it provides the perfect opportunity to look at the finalized roster for Kansas basketball going into next season. Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk shocked much of Jayhawk Nation by deciding to come back for his senior year, and Fetch and I used the opportunity to discuss all the implications this has for the team.
Today’s topics include:
00:50 Svi's return shocks us both
03:30 Lineup/formation speculation
10:16 Starting Lineup projections
12:36 Graham's expected minutes
15:48 Will the defense improve due to the deeper lineup?
18:19 Twitter Q&A (via @jerclausen): Will Self keep working the transfer market or focus on one-and-dones?
27:46 Twitter Q&A (via @DavidStatGuy): What is the single biggest thing next year this team will be lacking?
32:28 Twitter Q&A (via @DavidStatGuy): With the traditional lineup returning, will we continue to see Kansas shoot more 3s?
37:09 Svi scholarship opening back up a lucky coincidence? (h/t Warden11)
40:54 (via @valleyshook): Why is Kansas? - Fetch and I fill in the blank. I talk Bill Self and the NABC, Fetch finally gets to talk about college hockey (FINALLY!).
44:52 Wrap-up (Had to re-record this, so the tone of the recording changes a bit)
We had intended to also do a segment on baseball and football, but the length of this one already means that we'll record again tonight and have another episode for you tomorrow.
Please take the opportunity to complete the "Why is Kansas?" question yourself and give us your answer in the comments.
