Dwight Coleby To Transfer

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-Midwest Regional-Purdue vs Kansas Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Reported by basically everyone (I saw Gary Bedore’s tweet first though), Kansas forward Dwight Coleby is transferring. Coleby transferred in from Mississippi, but hit a stumbling block right away when he tore his ACL during his sit out year.

Unfortunately, Coleby never really got up to speed athletically due to that knee problem, but when he was in he was effective as a defender and rebounder. Coleby ended up the best defensive rebounder on the team (other than Udoka Azubuike), and the third best offensive rebounder. He also did well defensively in Kansas’s win over Kentucky in Rupp Arena and in the second round matchup against Michigan State.

This clears the way either for Svi Mykhailiuk to return to Kansas, or the Jayhawks to add one of the few remaining uncommitted high schoolers, or another grad transfer.
