Great free throw shooting combined with a nice mix of inside and outside scoring led the 1-seed Jayhawks to a big 90-70 victory over Mr. March Tom Izzo and his Michigan State Spartans.

A six-point game with 6:43 to play turned into a 20-point rout as the Jayhawks outscored Sparty 29-5 in the final 6 minutes.

Josh Jackson, playing against one of his best friends in Miles Bridges, owned this game. After starting the game 0-3 with some jitters, Jackson finished with 9-16, including 2-5 from three, for 23 points. He added three rebounds, two steals, and two blocks.

Frank Mason III was his usual Player-of-the-Year stuff, adding 20 points on 6-16 shooting with five assists and ZERO turnovers.

Four Jayhawks finished the game in double figures, with Devonte' Graham chipping in 18 points and Landen Lucas 10.

Michigan’s State’s Miles Bridges paced the Spartans with 22 points on 7-15 shooting while picking up 8 rebounds.

Up next, Kansas will take on 4-seed Purdue in the Sweet 16 at Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO.
