Kansas Football Recruiting: Ja’Marr Chase and Aaron Brule commit to Kansas

This makes KU’s third 4-star prospect in one day, plus another 3-star.

Make it six so far.

Ja’Marr Chase, 4-star WR out of Metairie, LA, tweeted his verbal commitment to David Beaty and the Kansas Jayhawks late Saturday night.

A 6’2”, 195 lb prospect, he has offers from Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa State, Florida, Ole Miss, TCU, Tennessee, and Texas Tech. 247Sports lists him as the #41 WR and a top-300 player overall in the class of 2018 while Rivals has him ranked #31 and a top-200 player.

His teammate, Aaron Brule, also just tweeted out his verbal late Saturday night.

Brule is a 6’2”, 194 lb safety. He is three-star prospect, rated by 247Sports as the #48 safety and by Rivals as the #30 safety in the 2018 class. His offer sheet includes Arizona, Arkansas, Iowa State, Tennessee, and a host of smaller schools.

David Beaty is cleaning up this weekend.

This comes on the heels of four earlier commitments on Saturday afternoon, including two consensus top-100 players in CB Corione Harris and WR Devonta Jason.

The hard part of recruiting to Kansas used to be just getting the recruits on campus. Now it seems as if it will be getting these verbal pledges to stick for a year until next signing day in February of 2018.

Whatever Beaty is doing, it’s working, and Kansas has a clear pipeline to Louisiana with Tony Hull.
