Simmons verbally committed to KU two days after receiving his offer from the Jayhawks. A very athletic player, in addition to football, he also helped his high school to the state title game in basketball. Simmons joins a KU defensive line that returns some talent in Daniel Wise and Dorance Armstrong but is thin overall on numbers. Look for him to push for some playing time as early as 2017.

Simmons signed with Kansas in December and is already on campus, expected to take part in spring ball.
