Kansas Football Recruiting Profile: Robert Topps Signs with Jayhawks

Chicago CB wants to be the next Chris Harris or Aqib Talib.

NCAA Football: Kansas State at Kansas John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

Bio

After committing to David Beaty and the Jayhawks last summer, Topps’ commitment to KU football never wavered despite offers from several MAC schools closer to home. He comes to KU after having earned All-Conference honors at defensive back in his senior year, and wants to stay at corner once he gets to Lawrence. He will have a shot to earn some playing time with KU losing three senior corners from the 2016 squad, but will definitely have to #EarnIt consider that the Jayhawks have also signed three more defensive backs in this class, the rest of whom are junior college transfers.
