Bio

Kerr Johnson seemingly came out of nowhere the day before the December JUCO signing day to ink with the Jayhawks. Per KUSports.com, Johnson’s recruitment was kept “under wraps” by the KU staff and lead recruiter Rob Likens because he is the perfect fit for an Air Raid offense and they didn’t want other schools to pick up on the rangy receiver. Despite standing just 5’11”, Johnson has the wingspan of someone who should stand 6’4”. As a JUCO transfer, Johnson won’t be coming to KU looking to redshirt or be a backup. However, Kansas is returning four of its top five WRs from last year, so he’ll have his work cut out for him if he is to crack the playing rotation.

Johnson was able to sign his LOI back in the December signing period, is already on campus, and is expected to take part in spring ball.
