Kansas already has a great 2018 recruiting class lined up with Silvio De Sousa, David McCormack, and Devon Dotson (not to mention transfers Dedric and KJ Lawson and Charlie Moore) and they’ve just added potentially their best pickup yet in Quentin Grimes, ranked 16th nationally in the 247 Sports Composite.
The 6-5 combo guard from Texas took his other three visits to Marquette, Kentucky, and Texas.
Draft Express has compared Grimes to Gary Harris, who starred at Michigan State. At 6-5 with a 6-7 wingspan, Grimes will be another versatile defender on the perimeter. He will probably be used off the ball a lot, and has been described as possessing a good mid range game, as well as the ability to get to the rim. From what little I have seen of him he appears to have good point guard skills as well, giving the Jayhawks potentially four point guards next year with Moore, Garrett, and Dotson.
With this class locked up, as well as the talent coming back, the Jayhawks look to be on track for another strong season, and might be the (very) early title favorites.
